    NPA’s founders had a vision of a strong, well-managed system of national parks in NSW. This is still a core part of NPA’s mission. We run campaigns and education programs to support good management of protected areas such as national parks, and to oppose uses or development of our reserves that undermine their conservation values.

As Rob de Fégely, the Federal Forest Industry Advisory Council Chair, prepares to tour the magnificent river Murray Valley National Parks and red gum forests of the Riverina, the National Parks Association of NSW urges him to reject calls for logging to resume in protected areas.

Continuing the national trend, eagerly led by Tony Abbott’s government, of systematically winding back environmental protection the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) has recommended ‘ecological thinning’ (read commercial logging) in the Brigalow-Nandewar State Conservation Areas (SCAs).

“The National Parks Association of NSW today welcomed the 30 investment recommendations released by Infrastructure NSW to improve critical infrastructure in NSW.” said Kevin Evans CEO of the National Parks Association of NSW.
