• Travelling Stock Routes (TSRs)

    Travelling Stock Routes and Reserves (TSRs) form a network of about 700,000 ha of public land that criss-crosses NSW. TSRs were originally used by drovers and pastoralists moving sheep and cattle across the landscape on foot. Today, the TSR network is an important public asset which protects significant remnant habitat and threatened species, as well as cultural, recreational and economic values.

Leading environment groups have welcomed the NSW Government’s first steps to create a Sydney Marine Park to protect our incredible marine life and way of life.

Conservation groups have cautiously welcomed the Baird government’s decision to restore full protection to 21 of the state’s marine sanctuaries, but are troubled that the level of protection for 13 others will be subject to further review.
