The first yearly general meeting of the Milton NPA under the new electorate structure took place on 6 August 2014 in the Bowling Club at Ulladulla. The well attended meeting took the opportunity to thank those members of the Committee who were not standing for re-election, namely Sheila Brooks, Graeme and Sue Cashion and Philip Smith-Hill. All have made a significant contribution to the work and activities of the Milton NPA Electorate over many years, with special mention being made of the strong leadership role played by Sheila in difficult times, and the meticulous record and minutes keeping of Graeme.

The financial situation of the Electorate remains sound and capitation funds from NPA HO continue to be received. Matt McClelland, NPA HO Activities Co-ordinator, spoke at the meeting on the need for families to spend more “green time” and less “screen time”.

The new Committee is Barry Tomkinson (Convenor), Liz Tant (Treasurer), Leslie Reddacliff (Activities Co-ordinator), Denise Dent, Leigh Martin and Russell Peterson. Penny Tomkinson will act as ex-officio keeper of the membership records. Members who are interested in joining the Committee need only give me a call to discuss!

2016 meetings:

  • Special awards night social dinner, Wednesday 16 November 2016 at the Ulladulla Bowling Club.

This dinner will allow us to celebrate two important events:

To present to Leslie Reddacliff the NPA Prudence Tucker Bushwalking Leadership Award 2016 for NSW.

To launch the hard copy version of the Little Forest Plateau book by Ron Doughton. Denyse Doughton will be there to accept the book in behalf of her family. All current Milton NPA households will receive a free copy of this important book. Those who are at the dinner will receive their copy that night, while arrangements will be made for other members to collect their copy at a later date.

The dinner will follow the normal format, with members asked to meet at 6.00pm downstairs to order their meals. We will go upstairs afterwards for the presentations.

Our Sunday walks program includes a range of walks suitable for most walkers. We also have regular Wednesday social walks and occasional bike rides and paddling trips. We welcome visitors and encourage interested walkers to come and join the group to try a walk. Where a leader contact is provided, it is a good idea to contact the Walks Leader to find out more information and to make sure that you have the right level of fitness and equipment to undertake the walk. Some walks have only limited places and where specified, it is essential to contact the walks leaders about the walk, in advance.
