Budget cuts and restructuring that are crippling National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), leaving them without the means required to properly manage our national parks.
At the same time national park visitation rates are soaring. NSW national parks were visited over 50 million times by Australians and international tourists in 2016.
Given their growing popularity and the important role they play in the Australian economy it is difficult to believe that investing in national parks and NPWS isn’t a high priority for the NSW government.
Through our Protect Our Parks campaign NPA will continue to campaign for the restoration of funding levels and expansion of NPSW so that they can keep our national parks well maintained, free of pests and weeds, and havens native wildlife.
