The overwhelming devastation of the 2019 /2020 fire season is hard to fathom. Over 5.2 million hectares of NSW was impacted by fire. With so many families, communities and natural areas affected, the damage will be felt for decades to come.

Forests For All seeks to protect public native forests and end damaging industrial logging. But our plan is for more than that. We want to increase public access to forests for recreation and nature-based tourism. We want to see regional communities benefit from forests economically, physically and emotionally. We want to protect the benefits that forests provide to people: like clean, plentiful water supplies and sucking up CO2. And we want to see our forests restored to health and the wildlife in them thrive.

National parks are in trouble in NSW. Not only has the Coalition stopped building the national parks network (the rate of national park creation has dropped by 95%), but it’s now openly attacking existing national parks and the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Old Growth Forests

The NSW government is currently undertaking a project to ‘remap and rezone’ protected old-growth forests. These forests are part of Australia’s Comprehensive, Adequate and Representative reserve network.
