NPA Executive

The Executive members manage and take overall responsibility for NPA’s business and financial affairs. Important tasks include business planning, financial management, regulatory compliance and supervising the Chief Executive Officer. The role is entirely voluntary.

Election of Executive members

Positions are elected annually by the State Council. The normal composition is 9 Executive members, made up of the President, 2 Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer and 4 general members. Up to 3 additional members may be appointed if required.

Nominations for 2025 are closed. Candidates must be a financial member of NPA and meet eligibility requirements for a responsible person under the charities legislation.

Management Groups

Each Management Group operates at a broad State-wide scale, but focuses on a particular field of organisational support. The scope of activities includes monitoring and reviewing current management practices, designing specific programs, and providing policy advice to the Executive or State Council.

Finance and Fundraising

The group provides advice and recommendations to the Executive relating to financial management, expenditure control and fundraising strategies. It plays a key organisational support role, as access to adequate and reliable financial resources is absolutely essential for achieving NPA’s objects. Important tasks include alignment of expenditure with the strategic plan and promoting long-term revenue growth.

Membership Committee

The group provides advice and recommendations to the Executive relating to membership recruitment, retention and promotion. It plays a key organisational support role, as members are NPA’s most vital and foundational asset. Important tasks include expanding and diversifying the membership, expanding member participation and engagement, enriching the membership ‘experience’, and raising the Association’s public profile and image.

Recruitment and Awards

The group recruits candidates for positions and determines nominations for volunteer awards. Renewal and succession of positions is critical to NPA’s effectiveness into the future. Important tasks include improving member awareness of NPA’s internal workings and opportunities for involvement, encouraging candidates to come forward, promoting greater diversity in senior positions, and giving appropriate recognition to the value voluntary service.
