The Main Works for the Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro station has been approved and work commenced a year ago. But the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the transmission connection was deliberately held back, presumably so it couldn’t be refused (as Snowy 2.0 would otherwise be stranded).

Spotted-tail quolls are on the threatened species list in NSW. But a 2-week survey in June 2021 found a large population of spotted-tail quolls in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands south of Sydney. The quolls are thriving despite a series of natural disasters including drought, bushfires and floods.

The Pilliga Forest lies between the Warrumbungle Dark Sky National Park and the Nandewar Ranges and covers about 500,000 hectares. It constitutes the largest surviving stand of remnant native forest in what is known as the Brigalow Belt South Bioregion. It is also a Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) for birds such as the Grey Crowned Babbler and the critically endangered Swift Parrot and Regent Honeyeater to name but a few (NPA 2020).

Her activism began in the 1960’s with concern over a road proposed through New England National Park. She also became concerned with the plight of northern NSW rainforests threatened by logging in places such as Terania.
