Activities
Walks are held every second month and are generally of easy to medium grade. The walks are well attended and are easy going affairs! We try to accommodate all ages and abilities in our planning.
Overnight field trips are organised from time to time and have included stays at places like Green Cape Lighthouse and Yarrangobilly Caves. These excursions generally fill quite quickly.
Meetings
The branch’s last AGM was held on Saturday, 26 August 2023.
Campaigns
Southern Forest National Park
NPA Eurobodalla to work with the Far South Coast Branch and Milton branches with NPA NSW on the flagship Southern Forest National Park proposal that is being developed for 2025 release to the NSW Government.
The Southern Forest National Park campaign will build the case for the establishment of the largest forest reserve in NSW history. This has the potential for over 400,000 hectares of state forest to be added to the reserve system when native forest logging ends. As well as protecting wild forest from logging the proposal includes multi-use recreational reserves typically near residential areas that continue to allow dog walking and horse riding.
A 100% industry focus on plantations for construction wood and skilled jobs will see the end of loss-making export woodchipping and our state forests kept standing for biodiverse carbon storage that will create regional jobs in ecotourism, wildlife protection and forest management to invigorate our regional communities.
