Samantha Newton, Director Operations
NPA’s tagline is Connecting People with Nature. We are an organisation focused on the conservation of nature through well-managed protected areas such as national parks and marine sanctuaries. We understand that communities want to protect what they see and value and feel a connection to.
How better to connect to a place that taking a walk, or going for a paddle, a cycle or a swim?
NPA’s Activity Program has been running for several decades. Predominantly bushwalking, it also includes paddling, cycling, swimming, rogaining, canyoning and multiday hikes. With close to 1,000 activities each year, it is the largest bushwalking program in NSW. It is a great complement to our conservation work, enabling members to socialise with like-minded people and get to know the natural areas of NSW. Activities are led by members of NPA, who volunteer their time and expertise, and are usually coordinated at the branch level with programs communicated through the branch newsletters. There is also a central program communicated via website and quarterly program.
NPA is pleased to announce that our new Activities Program website is live. Open to all NPA members, it does require a login to view the activities within the program.
- The new website allows you to filter activities by Branch.
- There is an app for smartphone and tablet that enables you to keep up with walks while on the go.
- The app has your digital membership card.
- Activities can be restricted to your branch or shared with all members.
- There is the capacity for online registration, which has already been taken up by Central Coast and Southern Highlands Branches.
If you’re a regular participant in the activities program, you will see some changes to the look and feel of the website, the format of information about each activity and the format of communications through the weekly bulletin and the quarterly program.
You can view the new website at npan.memberjungle.club.
