Bush Mates

The extensive housing development in South Western Sydney is an exciting opportunity for new residents to live closer to nature; however, this unprecedented number of people moving to the urban fringe can present challenges to the natural environment.

Bush Mates aims to increase the positive impact that new residents of housing developments can have on their local environment by delivering a community engagement and education program to establish a respectful and sustainable relationship between communities and wildlife and habitat.

We are working with communities at Harrington Park and Middleton Grange to create a relationship with local nature. To date, we have hosted tree planting days, backyard wildlife workshops and started up new two new bushcare groups.
