The NPA Volunteer Awards were established in 2004 to honour Prudence Tucker, a longstanding and dedicated member of NPA. The Awards recognise consistent, persistent, innovative and significant effort by members in support of NPA’s aims, projects and member activities. Interested in contributing to NPA proposals, policies or activities? NPA has specialist member groups for landscape conservation, marine conservation, park management, environmental planning and assessment, and field activities (such as bushwalking and biodiversity surveys).
Join NPA’S Longest Running Project
It began with a suggestion from park ranger Mike Dodkin (still involved 40 years later) that the newly formed Mid North Coast branch of NPA undertake some on-ground conservation work in Crowdy Bay National Park.
Spring Farm Families Plant 500 Trees for their Mums
After treating their mum to a lovely breakfast in bed, local families helped plant 500 trees in Spring Farm bushland corridor on Mothers’ Day.
“Planting a tree for mum is one of the most beautiful presents a family can give,” says Margot Law, Citizen Science Officer at the National Parks Association of NSW. “It’s a lovely tribute for the strength, support and love of mums and a gift that plays a vital role in restoring the ecosystem.”
