- Walks Program
The NPA Eurobodalla Branch of the National Parks Association NSW established in September 2024 will focus on two main areas:
- Advocacy for the protection and conservation of natural areas, including supporting actions to end logging of native forests, the creation of the Southern Forest National Park and the Eurobodalla Koala Project.
- A walks program to connect people of all ages and levels of fitness with nature.
Great Southern Forest National Park
NPA Eurobodalla to work with the Far South Coast Branch and Milton branches with NPA NSW on the flagship Great Southern Forest National Park proposal that is being developed for 2025 release to the NSW Government.
The Great Southern Forest National Park campaign will build the case for the establishment of the largest forest reserve in NSW history. This has the potential for over 400,000 hectares of state forest to be added to the reserve system when native forest logging ends. As well as protecting wild forest from logging the proposal includes multi-use recreational reserves typically near residential areas that continue to allow dog walking and horse riding.
A 100% industry focus on plantations for construction wood and skilled jobs will see the end of loss-making export woodchipping and our state forests kept standing for biodiverse carbon storage that will create regional jobs in ecotourism, wildlife protection and forest management to invigorate our regional communities.
Weekday Nature Appreciation walks and Weekend Walks program
